Department of Homeland Stupidity

So, a young man who worked for Shin Bet, the Israeli intelligence agency for a period of ten years comes to America. During his time as an undercover agent, he worked ceaselessly to defang Hamas. Intelligence he gathered was directly responsible for the arrest or death of many Hamas murderers, and saved the lives of countless Israelis, Americans, and Palestinians. His work was so effective that he is currently under a death sentence and lives under heavy security 24/7. He is a treasure trove of information about how Hamas works, how these terrorists think and act, and how to counter them.

So, if you're in the US Dept. of Homeland Security, and an asset like this walks into your office, what would you do?

Well, if you work in the Obama administration, you do your level best to deport him as a terrorist before he lets the rest of the country know how incompetent you are.

Mosab Hassan Yousef wrote a book, Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices, depicting his life as both the son of one of the founders of Hamas and as an agent for the Shin Bet. He wrote the book after coming to the US in 2007 and seeking political asylum. Two years later, DHS denied his request for asylum on the grounds that he represented a "danger" to the country.

They let him walk around for two years and then decided he was dangerous? And after making that decision, he's been free to move around for another year? How dangerous could he really be? The stooges at DHS make Larry, Curley, and Moe look like Einsteins.

How secure are you knowing that our DHS can't tell the difference between a terrorist and a counter-terrorist? Then again, they can't tell the difference between a terrorist and an 80 year old grandmother either.

Blatant Corruption in the White House

So, the White House now admits that the Obama Administration offered Sestak a job, through cut out man Bill Clinton, in order to try to get him to drop out of the Pennsylvania Primary. While the White House media corps, by which I mean the entire legacy media, push the story that there really is no story, those of us who still have critical thinking skills know the truth: not only does this Administration's foreign policy make Jimmy Carter look good, but it's level of corruption is now making Ulysses S Grant and Warren Harding look good.

Obama Skips Out on Memorial Day

And that's fine by me. It would be hypocritical of our sitting President to pretend that he gives any honor to those members of the military who gave their lives for the freedoms he is so busily working to take away.

A Funny Thing Happened on Ebay, or I Have the Greatest Most Understanding Wife in the World.

image

"Honey, how much do you love me?"

"Why, what did you do?"

"Well, there was this auction on Ebay for a telescope that I've been wanting for years and I kinda accidentally won it."

"And just how do you "accidentally" win an auction? Did your finger slip and "accidentally" hit the raspberrylace Bid button after mistakenly entering a price?"

"Well, not really. I put the bid in on purpose but I never expected to win it for that low of a bid."

"How low was your bid?"

"Umm, getting back to my question, how much do you love me?"

"HOW MUCH DID YOU BID!?"

"$1200.00"

(Insert you own depiction of a conniption. This is a family blog after all.)

I have a feeling this one's gonna cost me several pairs of shoes. And a footrub or two.

But it's worth it. I've wanted a good scope like this for years, decades even. Mom and Dad got me a toy telescope when I was a kid, and I used it to look at the moon, and Jupiter and a couple of stars, but it was hard to really see much else with it, and there was no way I could use it to take pictures.

So now I've upgraded. The picture above was taken with a Meade 10" LX200 coupled to a Canon Rebel 300D. The focus is a little bit soft, but not too bad for a first picture. The scope is a monster, weighing around 70 pounds, not counting the tripod. I'll have some pics of it in a day or so.

Now all I need is for the weather to cooperate and give me some clear nights.

Gotta run. I'm late for a foot rub...

The Problem With Compromise or Why Our Education System Sucks.

Billy: "2+2=4"

Joey: "No, it equals 6!"

Billy: "Nope. I checked. It equals 4. You're wrong!"

Joey: "That's just your opinion. You can't force your opinion on me! 2+2=6!"

Billy: "It's a fact, not an opinion. You can believe it equals 6 all you want; that doesn't do anything but make you wrong and stupid!"

Joey:" Waaah! Teacher, Billy said I was wrong and stupid!"

Teacher: "Now Billy, we can't be making value judgments about other people like that. Joey might have a very good reason for believing that 2+2=6, and in his eyes, he's right. We have to respect his right to have an opinion and help him build his self esteem."

Billy: " But Teacher, 2+2=4! 6 is wrong! If 2+2=6,then what does 3+3 equal?"

Teacher: "Now Billy, you're just trying to cause trouble and you're confusing poor Joey. Here's what we're going to do. When two people are opposed, we must always look for a way to compromise. In this case, we'll all agree that 2+2=5. Okay?

Joey: "I knew it couldn't be 4!"

Billy: "Sigh."

The story you have just read is all too true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Joey graduated college and became an accountant for Enron and is currently serving 5-10 for accounting fraud. He's still kinda fuzzy on the whole math thing, but believes he'll be out in 2043. Or something like that. Billy left school to be home schooled by his German Shepherd Einstein, and went on to graduate from MIT with a degree in math and theoretical physics. He's still sure that 2+2=4, but only in a coherent linear universe with a limited number of accessible dimensions. Teacher was widely lauded for his negotiating skills and now heads up the NEA.

More Presidential Improvisation, or a Definite Agenda?

Yesterday, I commented on the Obama Administrations schizophrenic approach to human rights, which provides foreign born terrorists with full US rights, yet targets an American citizen for assassination. Today, we find out that the Obama Administration is doing nothing to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, but doing everything to keep Israel from developing their nuclear power capabilities. A couple of days ago, the Obama Administration denied visas to all Israeli engineers who work at the Dimona nuclear power plant.

Either our President is completely incompetent, or he has a plan, and to be honest, I'm not sure which possibility is scarier. If he's really this clueless, then we've got huge problems to face over the next three years. ON the other hand, if he has a specific goal in mind, well that could be worse. He has systematically weakened the US strategically, diplomatically, and militarily. He's offended our allies and shown weakness in the face of our enemies. And over the past few weeks, he's sent a very clear message to the world that Israel no longer resides under the umbrella of our protection.

How long will it be until some nation moves to take advantage of this?

Is this what Obama wants?

Obama Is Making It Up as He Goes

The same administration that now applies US Law to enemy combatants on the battlefield has just put a price on the head of an American citizen.

There's no way to logically reconcile the two actions. Extending US protection to non US citizens makes sense if you take the stance that US law is firmly rooted in the recognition of the universal nature of human rights, but there is no way to logically connect that interpretation with stripping a US citizen of his rights, and this is exactly what the Obama administration has done. Liberals accused Bush of being a cowboy but it turns out that it's Obama who wants to bring back the days of the Wild West.

As a Tea Party supporter, I have to listen to leftist idiots ask where I was when Bush was trampling the Constitution. But now I want to turn the question around.

How many Democrats are protesting Obama's decision to target an American citizen for assassination? Are they okay with the idea of an administration putting a price on the head of an American citizen? Heck, they were protesting drone strikes against terrorists in Iraq, but now...silence.

Here, Here

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

Read the rest and then apply the argument to government.

It gets very interesting.

Important Parts of the Health Care Reform Bill:8

Wait. What?
